FrightFest Glasgow 2020 announces its line-up

FrightFest Glasgow is gearing up for its 15th year this March, and now the line-up for the event has been announced. Arrow Video FrightFest is bringing 13 movies from around the world to scare your pants off – the event will take place during the annual Glasgow Film festival.

FrightFest Glasgow runs from Thursday 5 March to Saturday 7 March, 2020 at the Glasgow Film Theatre and includes a whole heap of guests, giveaways and premieres.

Big ticket highlights include a new cut of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s Synchronic, which has been doing the festival circuit (it played the London Film Festival, Toronto and Fantastic Fest, among others) to great acclaim. Benson and Moorhead are the guys who made Resolution, Spring and The Endless and their latest is a cosmic horror sci-fi which centres on two paramedics investigating deaths links to a designer drug which induces otherworldly effects. The film stars Jamie Dornan and Anthony Mackie.

Rose Glass’ critically acclaimed Saint Maud will also be screening – it follows a pious young nurse who’s intent on saving the soul of the terminally ill patient she is caring for. It’s Glass’s debut and won the director a £50k bursary from IWC Schaffhausen and the BFI.

Death Of A Vlogger gets a second outing for those who missed its debut at Arrow Video FrightFest’s main event in August 2019. It’s the debut feature from Graham Hughes, and follows a Youtuber who gets famous after publishing a video which seems to contain an actual haunting.

Also keep an eye out for VFW from director Joe Begos, who wowed FrightFest’s August event with the trippy Bliss. Another movie featuring a designer drug it stars Stephen Lang and sees war vets fighting punk mutants. What’s not to like?
