Vice Principals Season 2 has showcased the show’s rapid evolution of insanity. The HBO comedy series, starring Danny McBride and Walton Goggins as the titular, hapless machinations-making High School vice principals, was always planned as a two-season affair and the new season is a hilarious, but devastating denouement for the series.
Vice Principals Season 2 is currenlty airing on HBO, concluding the comedy series with one last 9-episode run.

Vice Principals Season 2 Trailer
The Vice Principals Season 2 trailer immediately answers a question that’s lingered since the Season 1 finale, seemingly confirming that Danny McBride’s Neal Gamby (unsurprisingly,) survived the shockingly random cliffhanger moment in which he was shot by a masked assailant. However, the clip’s status as a surreal, possibly metaphorical sequence could indicate that we are missing major details regarding Gamby’s recovery.
Thus, any celebrations are probably premature. While Vice Principals Season 1 culminated with the clandestine, cruel, season-long schemes perpetrated by vice principals Gamby (McBride) and Lee Russell (Goggins) to depose principal Belinda Brown (Kimberly Herbert Gregory) finally paying dividends, with both ending up happy as co-principals, the dark-toned Season 2 trailer may play into the adage, “Heavy is the head that wears the crown.” – Or, in this case, headdress. Clearly, Gamby is in war mode, looking over his shoulder, declaring, “My killer is coming back and when he does, I’m gonna be ready.”
Consequently, Gamby’s glance down a chaos-afflicted hallway of North Jackson High School puts him face to face with a tiger, clearly representing his unknown enemy. Indeed, just as Gamby and Russell secretly conspired to ruin Principal Brown, an unseen enemy is clearly planning to dish a bit of the same to the titular undynamic duo.
