The Walking Dead: Michonne and Magna Clash in Exclusive New Clip

Here is a sneak peek at this Sunday's The Walking Dead, "Stradivarius," in which Michonne's still pretty mean to the newbies.

Trust is a hard thing to build in the zombie apocalypse on The Walking Dead.

Even with Alexandria and the rest of the communities sitting relatively pretty and comfortable, just one poor decision could make the whole house of cards come crashing down. Having said that…man, Michonne is being a real jerk to Magna’s group.

Michonne understandably wanted to take things slow with Magna, Yumiko, Luke, Connie, and Kelly after Judith rescued them and brought them back to Alexandria. Eventually she came to the decision to escort them all to Hilltop where they can live out the rest of their days learning karate with Jesus. In this new exclusive clip from The Walking Dead Season 9, Episode 7, “Stradivarius,” Michonne is once again doubling down on her decision to lead Magna’s crew away.

It looks like Magna, Yumiko, and company have successfully led Michonne and Siddiq to where the herd attacked them and they had to abandon all of their weapons and supplies. Michonne is pleased to see that that part of their story checks out. Now there’s just one more complication: the Magna-ites won’t be allowed to retrieve their discarded weapons.

“I’m not letting my men take five armed strangers into Hilltop,” Michonne tells them. Magna can’t help but notice that Michonne said “my men” and not “me” and correctly deduces that Michonne will not be joining them on the rest of this journey. We’ve yet to see the Hilltop in a post Rick Grimes and post Maggie Rhee world so it’s understandable that things have changed quite a bit politically there and Michonne may not want to deal with that. That’s a tough look for the Magna crowd.

Thankfully, Yumiko is there to steady everyone’s resolve.

“We made it out here on our own for a long time with less than this,” she says, convincing everyone to carry on the path to Hilltop. Yumiko likely trusts this new crew more than her comrades since Siddiq did so much to save her life. Hopefully that trust is rewarded upon arrival at Hilltop. At the very least the radishes and sorghum have to be coming along nicely there.

The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 7, “Stradivarius,” airs this Sunday, November 18 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
