The 100: Murphy Offers McCreary For Raven in Exclusive Clip

Check out this exclusive clip from "How We Get to Peace," tonight's episode of The 100.

Alliances continue to be tested in The 100 Season 5. In this exclusive clip from tonight’s “How We Get to Peace,” Murphy (Richard Harmon) and Emori (Luisa D’Oliveira) are pulling the trigger, so to speak, on their hostage exchange, offering McCreary (William Miller) for Raven (Lindsey Morgan).

Diyoza (Ivana Milicevic), for her part, has to decide if she even wants McCreary—an unpredictable, rebellious element—back in her camp. See what she chooses in the exclusive clip below…

It’s moments like this one that make The 100 such a great show. Subverting the typical outcome of a hostage exchange by having Diyoza basically be like, “Thanks, but no thanks” is pretty genius. If Murphy and Emori kill McCreary, they are solving a problem for Diyoza while also absolving her—both morally and politically—from having to do the actual murdering bit herself. As Kane (Henry Ian Cusick) points out: if McCreary dies, then his people will become her people.

There’s a lot to unpack in this juicy clip, including the relationship between Diyoza and Kane—both political, even idealistic visionaries stuck in a nihilistic time. Will Kane be able to convince Diyoza that peace is worth fighting for? And how does Diyoza’s pregnancy affect her decision-making, if at all?

It’s also nice to get some more Murphy and Emori time, even if Murphy is making snide comments to Emori about how she is better at blowing things up than fixing them. (Rude, Murphy—and you’re wrong, anyway. Emori got the radio to work!) Diyoza’s nonchalant attitude concerning McCreary leaves Murphy and Emori in a bit of a pickle. Killing people sucks, but they also need to maintain their rep. What will they choose to do now that Diyoza has firmly left the decision in their hands?

My absolute favorite part of this clip comes when Diyoza turns to Kane to ask if Murphy would really kill McCreary. “Probably,” Kane says, with a shrug. Kane’s just like: Did you see Season 1?
