Taboo: plans afoot for two more series

The Tom Hardy-starring, Ridley Scott-produced drama Taboo could well return for two more series...

Tom Hardy is currently gracing our TV sets in Taboo. He plays the lead role of James Keziah Delaney in the 8-part period drama produced by Ridley Scott, for BBC One.

The show’s scribe Steven Knight has teased to the Radio Times that this won’t just be a one-off event. In fact, “the plan” calls for the series to return for two further runs…

“We think it has got a [series] two and a [series] three certainly, that’s the plan”, Knight teased. “After that who knows? This series is eight parts – it’s a lot of time.”

Surely, finding space for two more shooting blocks in Tom Hardy’s schedule will be the hardest part of making this happen. Indeed, rushing another series out within a year might be tricky.

“Taboo follows James Keziah Delaney (Tom Hardy), a man who has been to the ends of the earth and comes back irrevocably changed. The series debuted on BBC One on Saturday the 7th of January 2017. FX airs Taboo in the USA. And we’ll bring you more news as we hear it.
