Stephen King’s 1922 Movie: Trailer, Release Date, Cast, & More

Thomas Jane and Molly Parker star in a Netflix adaptation of Stephen King's novella "1922." Here's the first trailer!

Netflix, which also adapted Gerald’s Game into a film recently, has picked up another Stephen King project for adaptation: the novella “1922,” which first appeared in the collection Full Dark, No Stars

Zak Hilditch (These Final Hours) is writing and directing 1922. The novella tells the story of a man who kills his wife in order to gain the farmland she inherited from her father. He even convinces their son to help him. But after they murder her and throw her into a well, things start to roll downhill for the killers, who believe they’re being haunted by rats that are an extension of the woman’s vengeful ghost.

The novella is classic King, who grew up reading EC Comics stories that played out not unlike this 131-pager. “1922” was nominated for the 2011 British Fantasy Award for Best Novella. Here’s hoping Netflix does the King justice!
