Everything’s coming up
Milhouse Venom in the first teaser for Spider-Man: Maximum Venom! Both Cap and Iron Man will be experiencing some serious symbiote vibes when the third season of the animated Disney show lands in April.
If, like us, you’re a fan of the current wave of Marvel cartoons – or “watching them with your kids” is just an excuse at this point – you’ll find this first look at season 3’s art very sweet to behold:
Spider-Man: Maximum Venom story
“This is the most epic conflict in the history of Marvel Animation,” said Cort Lane, senior vice president of Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment, when the season’s theme was first announced. “We planted the seeds in two seasons of Marvel’s Spider-Man and three seasons of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but you don’t need to have watched them to be blown away by this all-out symbiote invasion. While a ton of guest heroes will be on hand, Peter Parker’s special link to Venom makes him the only hero who can tip the scales to save humanity.”
“Maximum Venom isn’t your standard-issue Spider-Man, this is bigger,” said producer Kevin Burke at D23. “This idea of Maximum Venom – Doing a Venom-centric season just begged to be bigger. So instead of being your typical weekly episode, these are six-hour-long, Spider-Man/Venom movies. That’s what this ultimately is – six specials about Spider-Man, in Spider-Man: Maximum Venom.”
