Robert Patrick Is Game To Return to The X-Files

Could Agent John Doggett be back in the fold for The X-Files season 11?

Is Robert Patrick ready to reprise his role as Agent John Doggett on The X-Files?

According to a TVLine report, Chris Carter wrote Agent Doggett into an episode but Patrick’s shooting schedule for CBS’ Scorpion prevented the actor from participating in an early episode in The X-Files season 11.

“I actually wrote him into an episode,” Carter told TVLine. “But then I found out he wasn’t going to be available to us [because of Scorpion] so I had to write him out of the episode… Scorpion is his first priority. That’s not to say you won’t see him this season.”

So that leaves the door open for Patrick to potentially make an appearance in season 11. They’re currently shooting episode six of 10.

Patrick, who stated that he had little interest in returning for The X-Files six-episode 2016 revival, is reportedly now “game” to return as a guest star. The Terminator 2 actor first joined The X-Files in season eight after David Duchovny left the series. Agent Doggett, a former cop and Marine, initially headed an FBI task force to finding the missing Agent Mulder. He later was assigned to the X-Files with Agent Scully, and then Monica Reyes in season nine.

Reyes played a big part in the mythology of season 10, so we’ll have to see how Doggett would affect the show’s myth arc narrative.
