Thanks to an Amazon preorder listing we know the series KyuuKyuu Sentai GoGoFive will be released by Shout! Factory on April 24, 2018.
For those not in the know, GoGoFive footage was used to create the eighth season in the Power Rangers franchise, Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. While the series do have some key differences (including an all American sixth Ranger, the Titanium Ranger), GoGoFive and Lightspeed Rescue are very similar.
No bonus features were announced although there is a teamup movie between GoGoFive and Gingaman. Along with that there’s also a stand alone film titled KyuuKyuu Sentai GoGoFive: Sudden Shock! A New Warrior. So far, Shout! Factory hasn’t included any movies on their sets, so stay tuned to see if these movies will be included on the release.
Currently the series is available for pre-order which you can find here.
What did GoGoFive have instead of the Titanium Ranger? Who piloted the Max Solarzord if they didn’t have the Titanium Ranger? What was similar about the two shows? What were the main differences?
A fun BIG difference between the two series is that the Rangers in GoGoFive were all siblings! Yeah, isn’t that wild? We never really got that impression through the footage in America so it was easy enough to mask.
As these Sentai seasons start to resemble their American counterparts more and more it’ll be great to see fans begin to compare the two.
Also if you haven’t listened to the GoGoFive theme song yet, do it. It’s the ultimate jam.
