iZombie Season 3 Synopsis

And here’s the synopsis for the third season, which will see Liv trying to figure out which side of the potential zombie v. human war she is on…

In the third season, Liv has discovered there are more zombies living in Seattle than she previously believed. In fact, there is a private military contractor employing a small zombie army, and that army is preparing for the day humans learn of their existence. Major finds a job and acceptance in this army. Liv and Clive investigate the murder of a zombie family that may just set off an all-out zombie-human war. Ravi’s former boss at the Center for Disease Control shows up in Seattle to investigate the Max Rager massacre. Blaine finds living as a human with no memory of his evil past is more blessing than curse. Peyton pulls at a thread in one of her cases that may lead to the villain that’s pulling all the strings. This season, Liv will eat the brains and take on the traits of a dominatrix, a JACKASS-style stunt man, an office gossip, a pre-school teacher, a conspiracy theorist, a dungeon master, and many more.

Stay tuned for more news and insight into the third season of the beloved zombie dramedy. Den of Geek had the opportunity to visit the set earlier this month and learned lots of details about what’s next for our favorite members of the undead community (plus Ravi, Clive, and Peyton) following the arrival of mysterious zombie corporation Filmore Graves on the scenes in the season two finale.

This is good news for fans of character-driven drama. iZombiehas had some difficulties keeping its murder-of-the-week plots interesting and articulating Liv’s character within a story structure that asks her to try on a new brains-inspired personality every episode, but it has done a great job developing its serialized elements in season 2.

Major continues to have one of the best “significant other” storylines on TV (this is what The Flash could have been doing with Iris in season 1…), and Ravi and Blaine are two of the most consistently delightful characters on television.

iZombie Season 3 Renewal

CW president Mark Pedowitz said in a earlier statement about the renewal of so many of its shows from last season:

The CW has become home to some of the most critically-acclaimed shows on broadcast television, with a wide array of fantastic scripted series across the week, ranging from musical comedy, to superhero action, to gritty sci-fi dramas. As we continue to further our strategy of more year-round original programming, picking up these 11 series for the 2016-2017 season puts us in a great position of having proven, high-quality shows to launch in the fall as well as midseason and summer of 2017.
