Oh, so they meant infinite infinite. The CW’s upcoming Arrowverse crossover, Crisis on Infinite Earths, has added another major player to its time-bending adventure.
Kevin Conroy, who voiced the titular bat in Batman: The Animated Series will be joining Crisis on Infinite Earths to portray a future Bruce Wayne. The CW President Mark Pedowitz made the announcement during The CW’s appearance at the 2019 Summer TCA press tour. Conroy’s role is described as a “guest appearance.” Presumably he will portray a live action version of Bruce Wayne for the first time. But you never know, this is the Arrowverse and Legends of Tomorrow just had a puppet episode.
To many lucky early ’90s TV watchers, Conroy’s Bruce Wayne/Batman is the definitive take on the character. Conroy voiced Bruce Wayne and Batman for all of the series’ 85-episode run (we have a list of the best Batman: The Animated Series episodes right here). He continued to voice the dark knight in future projects like Justice League, and Batman Beyond.
Conroy isn’t the only blast from the past superhero casting for Crisis on Infinite Earths. Previously, The CW announced at SDCC that Brandon Routh of Superman Returns would be reprising his role as Superman for the crossover event. That means the Arrowverse will be accommodating no fewer than two Supermen. Perhaps some other Batmen are on the way. There will be at least one Robin as Burt Ward is set to reprise his role as the ’60s era sidekick.
The CW also revealed the full schedule for Crisis on Infinite Earths.
