Chris Pine is keeping busy post-Wonder Woman — on both the big and small screens. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pine has been cast as Robert F. Kennedy in a Hulu limited series event about the late American politician.
The as-of-yet untitled project hails from Bloodline and Damages co-creator Todd E. Kessler, and is based on a 2016 biography Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon written by Larry Tye. The book follows Kennedy’s life and political career from his time as an aide for Senator Joseph McCarthy to his assassination in 1968 during his campaign to become president.
This is the second upcoming TV project Pine is attached to. He will also be starring in the six-part TNT drama series Once Day She’ll Darken, which Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will be directing. Pine will be playing Jay Singletary, a former Marine living as a reporter and paparazzo who has his a vested interest in Hodel’s story, but who faces a moral dilemma in his continued search for the truth.
One Day She’ll Darken is slated to begin production this fall, so the Kennedy Hulu series would presumably not start filming until at least late fall or winter. More details on the TV project, and Pine’s part in it, as we get them.
