Captain Planet to Appear on OK KO

The power is yours once again as the classic 90's eco-hero teams up with Cartoon Network's OK K.O.!

By your powers combined, Captain Planet is returning to TV! Thanks to Mashable we’ve learned the eco-friendly hero will cameo in an episode of Cartoon Network’s OK K.O.! Let’s Be Heroes on Monday, October 9th at 6:30PM.

Not only that but some of the original Captain Planet voice actors will be along for the ride. David Coburn (Captain Planet) and LeVar Burton (Kwame) will reprise their roles in an episode that features Lord Boxman polluting the air around the plaza. This prompts K.O. and his friends to combine powers with the iconic superhero.

We’ve got a clip from it below, thanks to Mashable!

The music? The summoning of Captain Planet? K.O. using the heart ring? It’s… beautiful.

That redesign of Captain Planet and Kwame are delightfully on point and it’ll be fun to see them no matter how long the cameo is.

This news also ties in that the first season of the original Captain Planet series just launched on Cartoon Network’s app.

If this episode goes over well, could we possibly see a Captain Planet revival in the future? We’d certainly love to see one. If Cartoon Network has rights to stream the series, who knows?

While you wait for the cameo to drop, why not get the original ending theme stuck in your head all over again? Seriously, this thing is still an ear worm all these years later.
