Billions Season 3 Episode 12 Trailer and Episode Guide
Here's everything you need to know about Showtime's Billions Season 3.

Billions has quietly developed a devoted following over the course of its two seasons on Showtime. While it doesn’t pull in the kinds of numbers that something like Game of Thrones does over on rival network HBO, there’s something to be said for quality, and the increasingly vocal Billions fans has helped with the show’s success. As a result, Showtime was confident enough in the show to make Billions Season 3 a reality, renewing the series back in March.
The show centers around the ongoing war between billionaire hedge fund operator Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Damian Lewis) and U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) as the latter tries to nail Axelrod on his questionable tactics. Also starring on the series are Maggie Siff as Rhoades’ estranged wife — and a former performance coach at Axelrod’s fund — and Malin Akerman (Watchmen) as Axelrod’s fiercely protective spouse.

Billions Season 3 will feature an increased investment in loyalty.
Billions Season 3 Cast
John Malkovich is Billions Season 3-bound. And he’ll be playing a very John Malkovich-ian role. Malkovich will pop up for an arc playing Russian billionaire Grigor Andolov. In a show about billionaires and hedge funds and corruption, it’s pretty amazing this is the first time they’ve been able to trot out the “Russian billionaire” trope but better late than never.
And Malkovich is the perfect guy to participate in what is sure to be an intriguing small arc. Malkovich is well-known to Billions creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien with the two having directed him in Rounders and Knockaround Guys.
Comedian Mike Birbiglia will also be joining the cast for a guest arc starting in episode four. Birbiglia previously appeared as villain turned whistleblower on Orange is the New Black and should be an interested fit for the show.
“He’s got this kind of lazy, sort of slightly confused thing about the world,” Lewis said. “(Birbiglia) said ‘how am I going to be on a show where everyone talks so quickly?”
We also know that Asia Kate Dillon, who plays Taylor Mason on the show, has been upped to series regular for Billions Season 3 (h/t Deadline). Expect some other changes, as well.

Billions Season 3 Plot
Bobby Axelrod is the kind of guy who can’t lead a “normal” life. But that’s exactly what he’ll have to try to do in Billions Season 3. This season will detail Axe’s struggle to regain his livelihood and his financial empire. Easier said than done.
“We had these characters that are super powerful within their worlds,” executive producer David Levien said at the TCA press tour.” It’s fascinating to us to put them in situations where they become vulnerable or less powerful. It’s a changing landscape. The question is how will Axe react?”
Not well, one would assume.
“People go down on this show but they get back up pretty quick,” Damian Lewis said. “That buoyancy is what makes it so exciting to watch… He has a lieutenant now and they are the avatar of everything that he likes and believes in. He will find a way to come back.”
