Beyond Season 2 Confirmed by Freeform

Freeform president takes to TCA stage to say new supernatural series Beyond will move into the future.

In Freeform network’s new supernatural series Beyond, a teenager gets hit in the head during a meteor shower and when he wakes up from a coma 12 years later, he can see the future. Freeform’s president Tom Ascheim sees a future for the series and took to the stage at during the winter press tour of the Television Critics Association to announce that Beyond’s future looks bright enough to extend it into season 2.

ABC Family Worldwide’s science fiction series Beyond aired its two-hour premiere on Jan. 2 simultaneously on TV and as an on-demand release. All 10 episodes of the first season were made available for streaming on digital platforms Freeform app, Freeform.com, On Demand, and Hulu, but still air weekly.

The series was created, written, and executive-produced by Adam Nussdorf (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland).

“A young man who wakes up from a 12 year coma to discover new abilities, that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy,” reads the official synopsis.

Beyond stars Burkely Duffield (House of Anubis) as Holden Matthews, the young man with something extra. Duffield recently starred in Warcraft, from Legendary Pictures, alongside Ben Foster, Travis Fimmel, Dominic Cooper and Paula Patton. Dilan Gwyn from Da Vinci’s Demons plays the mysterious girl named Willa, who warns him of a vast conspiracy with the message “You’re In Danger, Trust No One” written in magic marker on his arm.

Beyond is executive-produced by Tim Kring (Heroes), David Eick (Battlestar Galactica), Steven Adelson, Zak Kadison, Justin Levy, and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones.

Beyond airs on Mondays on Freeform.
