ABC Orders Zach Braff Pilot Start Up

The comedy is based on a podcast of the same name.

ABC has given a pilot order to the Zach Braff single-camera comedy called Start Up. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Scrubsalum plans to star in the pilot, as well as executive producer and direct it.

Start Upis based on a podcast of the same name and revolves around Alex Schuman, a journalist, husband, and father who quits his job to start his own business. ABC landed the spec back in August, though multiple networks bid on the project.

In addition to Braff, Start Uphas some other solid behind-the-scenes cred. It comes from Blacklistproducers John Davis and has other Scrubsalum Matt Tarses as a co-writer (along with Braff).

No doubt Scrubsfans will be happy. If Start Upis picked up for a series order, itwould mark Braff’s return to network TV after a period in which he mostly focused on features.
