Yes no brilliant very good very strong news: behind-the-scenes BBC documentary W1A is returning for a third series.

Ian Fletcher, Head of Values at the BBC, said the following of the series three announcement: “We are lucky to have the cameras back at an exciting time for the BBC. In a period where we’re looking to identify as many Creative Efficiency Opportunities as possible we’ve been faced with some tough choices, but the good news about that is that in lots of ways tough choices are actually easier than easy choices because there are fewer options to choose from so that’s all good.”

The new series will show Fletcher and co. implementing the BBC’s new mission statement, which is to do “More of Less”. Head of Output Anna Rampton explained, it’s about “Putting what we do best front and centre and about identifying better ways of doing less of it more”.

“Such a cool mission statement. I’m totally good with that” added Siobhan Sharpe of Perfect Curve PR, who will appear in the new series alongside Jessica Hynes, Hugh Bonneville, Sarah Parish, Jason Watkins, Monica Dolan and Nina Sosanya.

The third series, by writer-director John Morton, is due to begin filming in February and will air on BBC Two later this year. So that’s all good.
