Paramount has been busy scheduling its blockbusters over the next couple of years, it seems, and in line with the current trend that sees studios marking sequels on specific dates years in advance, the studio has earmarked a release day that perhaps others may want to avoid for the third Transformers film.
It’ll be keeping up the bi-annual release schedule for the series, as we’ve got just two years to wait for Transformers 3. The date to circle is July 1st 2011, although there is a potential problem with it. And that’s that Paramount and DreamWorks has yet to do a deal with Michael Bay to return to direct film number three, and nor is Shia LaBeouf locked into the project either. Megan Fox neither apparently. That said, it’s the kind of franchise that you feel could probably exist easily without two of those three.
Incidentally, Paramount has also moved the release date of Thor as well, to May 20th 2011. Only last week, it had been reported that Thor‘s new release date was to be June 16th 2011, so given how quickly these things change, don’t rule out some further jiggling in the future.
In the meantime, Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen starts its worldwide rollout in June.
