It wouldn’t be unreasonable to suggest that Michael Bay’s second Transformers movie is eagerly awaited by a good number of people. Personally, I wasn’t that stoked with the first film, and I say that as a Michael Bay fan, but I’m intrigued to see what he does with the second. That Superbowl trailer still runs round on loop in my head, and suddenly got me interested in the film again.
What didn’t get me too interested though was the great John Turturro. Turturro’s performance in the movie Quiz Show is still, for my money, one of the best acting performances of the 1990s, but I thought his character in the first Transformers film was at best, a bit of an irritant. His Agent Simmons is turning up again in the sequel, however, and hopefully he’ll get a better break out of it this time.
It turns out though that Turturro might have landed a second role of sorts in the film, too. For he’s going to be lending, according to Screen Rant, his tones to one of the Autobots in the movie. He’ll be voicing Jetfire, who can transform into a SR-71 Blackbird. It’s a neat trick to have.
The film comes out in America first on 5th June, with the UK release following three weeks later on the 26th. Bah.
