Liam Neeson has been suggesting over the past day or so that his time with action movies is coming to an end. He’s still got one or two more in the can, though, with the latest being The Commuter, his fourth collaboration with director Jaume Collet-Serra.
The movie – which co-stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga – will be in cinemas in early 2018. Here’s what we’ve got to look forward to…
The Commuter Trailer
The Commuter has released a new trailer. Like the previous clip, it sets up the film’s Hitchcockian premise with an intriguing offer between two strangers on a train, with Liam Neeson’s average Joe insurance salesman Michael being offered a lot of money by a ruthless accoster in Vera Farmiga’s Joanna to potentially tap into a particular set of skills to find and kill a specific someone on the commuter cars. Of course, Joanna’s offer represents an insidious conspiracy by powerful people, designed to silence a key witness and put Michael in the frame for doing so.
Interestingly, this new trailer for The Commuter goes beyond the previous one, showcasing some of the intense action scenes that the film has planned. Indeed, the Hitchcock stuff goes out the window quite quickly, with high-speed sequences that turn the commuter ride into a fiery runaway train, all while the Neeson’s Michael multitasks the unraveling of the killer conspiracy, which continues to claim innocent lives in the street.
