Star Wars: Chewbacca Rips Unkar Plutt’s Arm out of its Socket in Deleted Scene from The Force Awakens

In a deleted scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Chewbacca finally rips someone's arm out of its socket!

“Let the Wookiee win.” That’s the wisest advice Threepio has ever offered his astromech counterpart. After all, Wookiees are known to rip people’s arms out of their sockets when they lose…

In a new deleted scene from The Force Awakens, Chewie’s bad side is finally revealed in a horrifying moment of violence – perhaps the most visceral moment in the entire saga. Indeed, watching Chewbacca rip someone’s arm out of its socket might be more disturbing than watching Anakin Skywalker burn alive.

Don’t believe me? Check out the deleted scene for yourself:

Arms do seem to come off in Star Wars cantinas, don’t they? Okay, a little context for those who haven’t revisited The Force Awakens since its release in 2015. The victim of Chewie’s temper is Unkar Plutt (Simon Pegg), a Crolute junk boss from the planet Jakku. He was the dude who basically enslaved protagonist Rey (Daisy Ridley) and forced her to scavenge the nearby Star Destroyer wreckage for old power converters and the like. Plutt was also the owner of the Millennium Falcon at the time of the movie, after it’d been stolen from Han Solo and Chewie.

Well, Plutt wasn’t too happy that Rey and Finn made off with the Falcon during their escape from the First Order forces. Plutt chased Rey all the way down to Maz Kanata’s castle on Takodana to punish the girl for stealing his ship. The rest, as they say, is mutilation history.

A portion of this deleted scene was actually included in the Blu-ray release of The Force Awakens, but that cut of the scene didn’t show the horrific moment in which Chewie decides to rip off Plutt’s arm. Probably for the best.
