When Marvel and Sony finally made a deal to share their friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, many fans celebrated tentatively. How much of the character would we see in future collaborative efforts between the two studios before Sony snatched him back?
Well, in terms of his standalone adventures within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that question has now been answered by the man currently in the suit, Tom Holland. The actor recently spoke to AlloCíne, where he confirmed that there’s a trilogy of movies planned for this incarnation of Spider-Man under Marvel and Sony.
“There is still a lot of room for Peter Parker and Spider-Man especially to grow in the next two movies. He’s definitely not the finished article by the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming and I really look forward to exploring the different ways he can grow up and go through puberty I guess. It’s going to be an exciting couple of movies,” Holland said, before adding “yeah, there’ll be Spider-Man 2 and 3, it won’t be Homecoming 2 and 3.”
So that’s that.
In addition, we’ve got some NBA Finals tie-in marketing for Spider-Man: Homecoming for you to have a look at today. It’s deeply weird, as all marketing tie-in videos tend to be, but there’s a whole lot of Happy, Tony and Peter palling around to be found in it. Check it out below…
