It’s been a while since we last saw Samuel L. Jackson play Nick Fury in a Marvel movie, as the architect of the Avengers has been taking a bit of a back seat on the big screen. But Fury still has work to do, and it’s now been reported that Samuel L Jackson has been added to the cast of the upcoming Captain Marvel.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are directing the film, in which Brie Larson wil take on the lead role of the alien power-infused Carol Danvers. The movie currently has a release date of March 8, 2019, and production is expected to begin late this year, or early next.
It’s clearly too early to ascertain just how sizeable a presence Nick Fury will have in the movie, and Marvel — as you might expect — has kept up its policy of not responding to casting speculation. Fury/Jackson was last seen in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
