It’s a project that’s been languishing in development hell for some time, but it seems that Warner Bros’ planned remake of Logan’s Run is finally pressing ahead.
The film had been on Bryan Singer’s radar to direct at one point, but the man calling the shots on it is set to be Nicolas Winding Refn, who’s just finished work on a film called Drive. That film, Drive, also happens to star Ryan Gosling, and perhaps it’s no coincidence that Gosling is now set to star in the Logan’s Run remake.
It’d be a first outright commercial role for Gosling, who was touted as a potential Jack Ryan before Chris Pine got that particularl gig. And it does now seem as if the project is definitely happening, with Deadline reporting that production on the movie will begin in the autumn.
We’ll keep you posted, and in the meantime, here‘s the story at Deadline.
