Psychotic! Trailer Slashes Through Brooklyn Hipsters

A slasher is on the loose in Brooklyn, and he ripping through hipsters in urban horror flick Psychotic!

Gentrification has met its match. Native Brooklynites are lashing out in Destruction Inc’s psychedelic slasher flick Psychotic!, which comes to VOD on January 26th. Psychotic! will also be projected in special screenings in Brooklyn. But don’t walk home alone when it’s over, the rent is high but the body count is higher” for Bushwick Party Killer.

Psychotic! blends over-the-top 80s slash with the colorful horror of classic 70s Giallo films, and paints its blood-soaked practical effects boldly. The film follows a group of “hard-partying Brooklyn hipsters as they’re stalked and savagely murdered by a masked maniac,” reads the official synopsis.

It’s up to struggling artists Tim and Stuart to figure out who keeps killing the life of the party.  Blood-soaked mayhem ensues as our heroes barely make the rent on time, search for love (in all the wrong places), and try to salvage their friendship – all while trying to unravel the mystery and stay one step ahead of the next massacre.”

Psychotic! was written and directed by Derek Gibbons and Maxwell Frey, who produced for The Onion, HBO and Cinemax.

Gibbons and Frey shot their first feature-length film on location in their hometown of Bushwick, Brooklyn. Psychotic! stars Kristen Martin, Clint Keepin, Cirocco Dunlap, Maria Wojciechowski, Dani Grace, Adam Maid, Rafael Cruz, Chris Prine, Aldous Davidson and Rachel Laforest. The film features an original score by Brooklyn-based synth duo Blazing Galaxies.

Psychotic! won Best Feature at the Cannabis Film Festival, Best NY Feature at the Upstate NY Horror Film Festival and Best Actress at The Lost Sanity & Sci-Fi Film Fest.
