New Trailer For Ouija Conjures Dark Images

Watch the first full trailer for Ouija, a new October-timed horror movie about the famed necromancy "game."

Whether you call it “Ouija,” “spirit board,” or just a good old-fashioned planchette board séance, the act of using talking boards to “commune” with the spirits of the dead is an age-old practice. Literally, it dates back to at least the twelfth century in China!

So, it is about time this tool of necromancy got its own big screen treatment. Oh sure, it has appeared in some truly frightening movies in the past like The Exorcist and the first (and best) Paranormal Activity, but this famed toy board that even got William Butler Yeats’ mojo going should get its own film too!

And now it has with the Universal Pictures release of Ouija, a horror show about what goes bump in the night besides the gliding planchette. In the new trailer, a group of friends, including Olivia Cooke, Douglas Smith, Bianca Santos, Darern Kagasoff, Vivis Colombetti, Ana Coto, and Erin Moriarty, all gather around the Hasbro-owned Ouija board to see what happens when the “game begins.” Hint: it’s not going to be good-natured fun for them.

Ouija will attempt to summon you to theaters on October 24, 2014.
