Disney has confirmed that a sing-a-long version of Moana is heading into theaters at the end of the month. The version – that’ll come with the words of screen so you can belt out the tunes – is due for a January 27th nationwide bow. This happened before with Frozen, you probably noticed, and the release was subsequently expanded across the world. So don’t rule out a sing-a-long version of Moana in the UK in due course, too.
We’ve also got word of when to expect the DVD, Blu-ray and digital on-demand release of the film. The film arrives on digital platforms in the US first, on February 21st, and the DVD and Blu-ray editions will be hitting American shop shelves on March 7th. Details of extra features haven’t yet been confirmed. You can pre-order the digital version on Amazon.
Nor, as it happens, has the UK disc release or on-demand release. While it’s up for pre-order in all the usual places, we’ve not had news of a date. Our guess – and it’s just that at the moment – is that because the theatrical release dates of Moana tallied on both sides of the channel, that the home release is likely to as well, or at least be within a week of the same. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
Moana continues to play in cinemas worldwide, and it’s notched up $450 million in box office business around the planet so far.
