Marvel to Publish an Official Timeline of the MCU

After Spider-Man: Homecoming added confusion to the Marvel timelines, an official explanation is on the way...

If you’ve had problems following the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, not least because Spider-Man: Homecoming shifted things around, then help is at hand. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has acknowledged the debate that’s been going on over when and where everything slots together in the MCU, and in an interview with Screen Rant, he’s also admitted that the studio is going to do something about it.

“We are going to be publishing an official, and I’m not sure when, or in what format, an official timeline,” he said. “It’ll probably be a part of … I don’t know … a part of an in-print that you can fold out and look at. But suffice to say, only in limited cases do we ever actually say what the actual years are because we never want to be tied down to a particular year and I think people assume that whenever the movie is released is when is when the movie is taking place, and that is not the case.”

Feige didn’t reveal when said timeline would be published, but with phase three of the MCU drawing to a close next year with Avengers: Infinity War, that might be a natural break point.
