Justice League to be separate from Batman and Superman

It looks like the world is going to have two actors cast as Batman, and two as Superman on the big screen, as Zack Snyder confirms that the planned Justice League Of America movie will stand alone…

A cracking scoop for our chums over at HeyUGuys last night. For it was the UK premiere of Zack Snyder’s new movie, Sucker Punch, in London, and off they went.

Now, over the past few days, the incoming studio president at Warner Bros, Jeff Robinov, has been causing a few stirs by talking about the proposed Batman reboot, and also mentioning that the superhero mash-up, Justice League Of America, might just be back on the table.

But would this, then, feature Henry Cavill as Superman, were that the case? HeyUGuys asked Zack Snyder the question, and he said, “Like what Christopher Nolan is doing and what I’m doing with Superman, what they’ll do with Justice League of America will be its own thing, with its own Batman and own Superman. We’ll be over here with our movie and they’ll kinda get to do it twice, which is kinda cool.”

Basically, then, that clarifies things. We’re going to basically have two Batmans and two Supermans cast at the same time, and each project, while linked by studio, will be independent. Job done.

One more thing, and we’ll say this because the fine folks at HeyUGuys are nicer than us. To the assorted movie websites who will take their story, perhaps namecheck them, but not even give them the common courtesy of a link back for digging up the story, do the right thing. How hard is it? If they’ve gone to the trouble of getting the story, which you, in turn, use for your site, give them a link back. That’s, surely, the very least you can do.

Incidentally, we’re not holier than thou, here, as occasionally we miss a link ourselves. But we do always correct that when we’re alerted to it.

To see the sizeable quantity of footage that HeyUGuys stayed up until the early hours of the morning to produce, just head here. Glad we didn’t forget that bit, taking into account the last two paragraphs…
