The long-gestating X-Men spin-off movie Gambit, that was all set to star Channing Tatum (and still is, we think), has thus far appointed and lost both Rupert Wyatt and Doug Liman as director. Gore Verbinski, who directed the first three Pirates Of The Caribbean movies (and most recently, A Cure For Wellness), is directing the movie. It’ll be his first blockbuster movie since The Lone Ranger.
20th Century Fox is so confident in things that they’ve assigned a February 14, 2019 release date for Gambit. That’s the same weekend where Deadpool cleaned up at the box office in 2016. The full schedule of upcoming X-Men movies can be found here.
