Confirmed: Hugh Jackman won’t cameo in X-Men: First Class

Don’t go looking for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in X-Men: First Class. Because you won’t find him….

It seemed a long-shot rumour when it started doing the rounds earlier this week. But nonetheless, there was some intense chatter surrounding the possibility of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine making a cameo in the currently-shooting X-Men: First Class.

Given that First Class takes place in a different time to the era of Jackman’s take on Wolverine, it would have been tricky, but not impossible, to accommodate him. And thus, when reports started circulating that Jackman had been spotted on the First Class film’s Georgia set, the rumours quickly fuelled.

But, according to producer Bryan Singer, they’re all nonsense. Talking to The Geek Files over at the Coventry Evening Telegraph, he confirmed that “He’s not in the movie, he’s in the Wolverine movies.”

Furthermore, Fox issued a statement, saying that “X-Men hasn’t started shooting in Georgia yet and if Hugh was in Georgia, it wasn’t for this movie.”
