Christina Chong (24: Live Another Day, Line of Duty) has joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII in what Variety describes as “a minor role.” No other details are available at this time. Latino Review broke the news of Ms. Chong’s casting. You can see her soon in another sci-fi setting as the female lead of Halo: Nightfall.
Star Wars: Episode VII is currently filming virtually everywhere, it seems. It’s set to take a brief break from shooting next month in order to let production sync up again while Harrison Ford recovers from an injury sustained on the set. Still, all involved expect it to make its December 18th, 2015 release date.
In the event that you’ve been slowly digesting in the belly of a Sarlacc for the last year or so we should inform you that Star Wars: Episode VII is directed by JJ Abrams. It stars Adam Driver, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Lupita Nyong’o, as well as familiar faces like Mark Hammil, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher.
