Rocksteady Hiring Staff for “An Exciting AAA Game”

The producers of the Batman Arkham games have something in store, job listings from Rocksteady suggest

New Batman Game: Kevin Conroy

Rocksteady, the developers behind Batman: Arkham Asylum and its sequels Arkham City and Arkham Knight, are hiring some new employees to work on the marketing materials for “an exciting AAA game” that hasn’t yet been formally announced.

We already knew that Rocksteady was working on something, although details have been very thin so far. The company’s co-founder, Sefton Hill, offered this update in November last year: “When it’s ready to show, you’ll be the first to know. Spoiler: it’s not Superman.” And that’s the last that we heard, basically.

Until now, that is. Some interesting job listings have popped up on the Rocksteady website, which seems to suggest that Rocksteady is nearing a point where it will be ready to start showing off its next project. There are three positions being advertised in the company’s marketing department, and one of these advertised positions is for a Lead Brand Artist, “who is ready for the challenge of producing world-class marketing materials for an exciting AAA game.”

Another gig that’s up for grabs is Promo Artist (Video), a person whose “promotional videos will form a central component of the global marketing campaign for a very high profile, triple-A game franchise.” There is also a Senior User Researcher job going, with the hunt being on for a candidate who “is ready for the challenge of producing a world-class, AAA title.”

Do you see a pattern forming here? Rocksteady is looking for marketing people for a triple-A game, which is sure to send speculation into overdrive again. Is this another Batman: Arkham game, or is Rocksteady branching out to a new DC Comics hero? Or is this new project totally unrelated to the studio’s previous work in the DC universe? Could they have been working on an IP this entire time? Maybe they’ve even managed to snag the rights to a Marvel hero

For now, we don’t know, but we look forward to seeing what these marketing professionals are eventually tasked with sharing. In the meantime, free to leave your own wishlist in the comments below…
