Metal Gear Solid 5 Mod Replaces Big Boss With Keanu Reeves

Keanu invades yet another video game courtesy of this Metal Gear Solid 5 mod.

Metal Gear Solid Keanu Reeves Mod

The apparent effort to get Keanu Reeves in everything continues with this new Metal Gear Solid 5 mod which replaces Big Boss with two Keanu Reeves characters.

This mod, as spotted by PC Gamer, is a work-in-progress alteration of the PC version of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain which lets you play as either John Wick or Johnny Silverhand. Besides both being named John, these two characters are, of course, both played by Hollywood and internet darling, Keanu Reeves.

This mod isn’t quite finished yet, but even in its completed form, you shouldn’t expect too much from it. Basically, it just swaps out the Big Boss avatar with either John Wick, Johnny Silverhand, or Johnny Silverhand without his sunglasses. It doesn’t offer anything in the way of significant gameplay alterations, and it doesn’t even change the character’s voice.

Still, the character models do look pretty good, and Johnny Silverhand’s robotic arm does fit into the MGS 5 world surprisingly well. This isn’t quite the overhaul of our dreams, but it’s hard to argue against this mod’s free price tag and the effort put into it.

As for upcoming games featuring Keanu Reeves, don’t forget that there’s a John Wick game in development which reimagines the action-packed world of the films as a strategy experience designed to help you replicate the expert choreography and tactical combat featured in the films.

Of course, Keanu is still set to appear in 2020’s Cyberpunk 2077 as Johnny Silverhand. Needless to say, the reveal of his role in that game caused quite a stir for what is already a highly-anticipated title.
