The Game Awards is the video game industry’s biggest celebration of the year, honoring the latest and greatest in gaming. The 2019 ceremony is almost here and the nominees are some of the best games we’ve played this year.

The 2019 Game of the Year nominees are ControlDeath StrandingSuper Smash Bros. UltimateResident Evil 2Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and The Outer Worlds. Other games with at least 3 nominations include Apex LegendsCall of Duty: Modern WarfareDisco ElysiumFinal Fantasy XIV, FortniteGrisOuter Wilds, and Sayonara Wild Hearts.

You can see a full list of the nominees, as well as some prediction as to which game might win each category, here. Gamers looking to vote for their favorite games at The Game Awards 2019 can do so by searching “TGA vote” on Google or through this link.

On top of awards, expect big announcements and reveals for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch as well. And might Sony and Microsoft take this opportunity to tease something new about the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett? Don’t count Nintendo out, either. Anything is possible at the final big gaming event of the year!

We know that Sony will bring at least one new trailer to the show: a new story promo for Ghost of Tsushima. It might be a good time to reveal the game’s release date, too. Stay tuned!

The Game Awards 2019 will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 5:30 pm PT/8:30 pm ET. You can watch the show in the stream below:
