Sailor Moon Season 5 Villains Cast Announced

The villains of Sailor Moon season 5 have been cast!

When we covered VIZ Media’s announcement of the new voice talent joining the Sailor Moon family, we couldn’t help but note a few absences. While we got the casting info for the Sailor Starlights, Sailor Galaxia, and Chibi-Chibi, there was nothing on Galaxia’s henchwomen, the Sailor Animamates.

Well, ask and you shall receive!

It’s been just barely a week, and we now know who will portray these animal/metal-themed villains of Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars.

First up is Katie Leigh as Sailor Iron Mouse, the first agent of Shadow Galactica to face off with the Sailor Guardians, whose childlike cuteness betrays a nasty mean streak. Leigh hasa few anime credits to her name, but her voice-over career goes waaay back, and English-speaking audiences would probably know her best as Alex from Totally Spies, Honker Muddlefoot from Darkwing Duck, and Sheila the Thief from Dungeons & Dragons. Damn, she’s been just all over our childhoods!

Faye Mata has been cast as Sailor Aluminum Siren, the ditzy, oddly polite femme fatale with a serious case of the munchies—not that you’d ever be able to tell from her figure. Mata’s credits include Midoriko in Sword Gai: The Animation, Rider of Black in Fate/Apocrypha, and Lulu the Fae Sorceress in League of Legends.

Andi Rich will be stepping into the thigh-high stilettos of the cunning and short-tempered Sailor Lead Crow. After a thorough internet search, it seems this is Rich’s debut role, which speaks pretty highly of her, considering how high profile a gig this is.

The last of the Sailor Animamates to appear is the cruel, ambitious, and ultimately unstable Sailor Tin Nyanko, voiced by Corina Boettger, whose credits include Aya Nakanishi in Erased, B-Sha in Megadimension Neptunia VII, and Anju Yuki in Love Live!: School Idol Project.

Now that the Sailor Animamates have been announced, this leaves Princess Kakyuu as the only noteworthy Sailor Stars character whose casting remains unannounced, though it’s not surprising. While Kakyuu is pivotal to the story of Sailor Stars, she debuts very close to the end, and it’s possible she hasn’t yet been cast. When she is, however, rest assured we’ll let you know!
