Ric Flair Hospitalized with “Tough Medical Issues”

Pro wrestling legend and 16 time World Champion Ric Flair has been hospitalized with what his management team is calling “tough medical issues.”

Early Monday morning, Melinda Morris Zanoni, the CEO of Legacy Talent LLC, tweeted that Flair needed prayers and positive energy.

This tweet just a little more than 24 hours after Morris Zanoni tweeted that he was hospitalized for route monitoring.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, Flair is currently hospitalized in Atlanta, GA, where he lives, and the belief is that he’s undergoing treatment for a “heart-related issue.”

In Flair’s 2004 autobiography, To Be The Man, he wrote that he was diagnosed with Alcoholic cardiomyopathy, which is a disease that results in heart failure due to long-term abuse of alcohol, when the heart is unable to pump blood efficiently. 

Michael Hayes, a longtime friend of Flair and currently on the creative team for WWE, tweeted that he saw Flair on Sunday.

Flair, 68, was originally hospitalized on Saturday morning. Pro Wrestling Sheet reported on Saturday that Flair was in the intensive care unit after being admitted to the hospital by his family.
