A Game of Thrones Wedding with a Happy Ending!

Game of Thrones' Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are officially married after a wedding that included other Game of Thrones cast members.

Seven years after HBO’s epic song of ice and fire began its tune, Game of Thrones is finally the source of a happy wedding. So of course it happened off-screen! Yet this makes the news happier still, as Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, who met on the production of the fantasy series way back in 2011, have officially tied the knot. On television, the pair enacted the tragic love story of Jon Snow and Ygritte, a bastard and Brother of the Night’s Watch and the wildling warrior kissed by fire who convinced him to break his vows.

In real-life, however, the 31-year-old actors had a much more blissful union which culminated in a wedding ceremony on Saturday at Leslie’s ancestral home in Scotland. The couple were married at Rayne Church before departing to the celebration at Wardhill Castle, the 900-year-old estate that is owned by Leslie’s family.

Below is a picture of Leslie, in an ivory gown, being escorted to the ceremony by her father Sebastian Arbuthnot-Leslie, who is the Aberdeenshire Chieftain of Clan Leslie.

And making it a proper Game of Thrones wedding were the show’s Northern attendance being represented by Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams. On Game of Thrones, the pair play Jon Snow’s half-sisters, Sansa and Arya, and like Harington have grown up on screen on the popular series. Richard Madden also made an appearance, dressed in a traditional Scottish kilt. This all the more sweet as Madden’s on screen brother to Harington, Robb Stark, had a grisly and heartbreaking death at the end of season 3.

Also below that is an image of actor Ben Crompton, who played one of Jon Snow’s closest friends on the Wall, Dolorous Edd, alongside John Bradley, who played Jon Snow’s best friend, Samwell Tarly. Together they round out the Northern procession.

Also in attendance from the Game of Thrones family were Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage in attendance. Clarke plays Daenerys Targaryen, who is Jon Snow’s rival for power, but by season 7’s finale also his queen (for now), his lover, and his aunt. Yeah. Meanwhile Harington and Dinklage had some of the show’s earliest highlighted scenes together, with the latter playing Tyrion Lannister. As of right now they are allies as well—it would appear on screen and off. Plus Liam Cunningham who plays Ser Davos Seaworth.
