Rejoice! Japanese Spider-Man TV Series Returns to Marvel

Watch two episodes of the Japanese Spider-Man TV series, which influenced shows like Power Rangers.

Once upon a time, the Japanese Spider-Man TV series (Supaidaman), which bears absolutely no resemblance to Spider-Man whatsoever outside of the name and the cool costume, was available to watch in its entirety on Marvel.com. For reasons that have been lost to the alien spider-gods, those glorious days are long gone. Or…are they?

Marvel have once again made two episodes of the series available for you to watch. Those happen to be, coincidentally, the only two episodes I’ve ever actually watched. The first episode (“The Time of Revenge Has Come! Beat Down Iron Cross Group!”), and the second episode (“Fearful Hit Tune! Song Dancing Murder Rock!”), which features the mind melting brilliance of “Spider-Man boogie.” Watch ’em both here.

Why are they back? Because the Japanese Spidey plays a role in the “every Spider-Man ever” madness that is the ongoing “Edge of Spider-Verse” event. You can read more about that right here.

So, Marvel…you’re all quite happy to make this Spider-Man show available. Why not the other great live-action version of Spider-Man from the ’70s? I made my case for why The Amazing Spider-Man TV series deserves an official release right here.
