Here’s what we know about the show so far…

October Faction Release Date

October Faction picked a different month to debut than its title would appear to indicate; instead, it will be dropping on Netflix on January 23, 2020.

October Faction Trailer

IDW Entertainment describes October Faction as “a Men in Black meets Riverdale series where dark family secrets and simmering high school angst all collide against the struggle between monsters and humans,” and the latest trailer fits that logline quite nicely.

October Faction Cast

The October Faction cast is led by Tamara Taylor (Bones) will play the mother of the Allen family, Deloris opposite J.C. Mackenzie (Molly’s Game) as Fred, the father. As for the children, Viv will be played by Aurora Burghart (Sex Education) and Gabriel Darku (American Gods) will enact the role of her brother Geoff.

The comic upon which October Faction is based comes from IDW and famed horror comics scribe Steve Niles, who will executive produce the adaptation. Niles’ original story characterizes the Allen family as “retired monster hunter, thrill-killer, warlock, and witch,” but of course, the adaptation may take liberties with those roles. However, the first issue’s tagline of, “Sometimes crazy is the glue that binds a family together,” seems like a pretty good recipe for a team dynamic.

October Faction has as its creator and showrunner Damian Kindler of Sleepy Hollow and Krypton. He and Niles will be joined on the project by executive producers James Thorpe (Motive), Thomas Walden, and Eric Birnberg. Kindler will also direct along with Megan Follows (Wynonna Earp), Mina Shum (Murdoch Mysteries), and David Frazee (Orphan Black).
