Lost Girl’s Anna Silk Will Return to TV on CBS’s Blood & Treasure

Anna Silk, former star of Syfy’s Lost Girl, is set to appear on the upcoming CBS series, Blood & Treasure.

CBS has already stacked up quite the cast for its 2019-scheduled action-adventure series, Blood & Treasure. However, with its latest casting move, the series might just shepherd in a wayward sci-fi/horror television fandom, having just added Anna Silk, the former star of Syfy’s Lost Girl.

Blood & Treasure depicts a globetrotting adventure that will showcase the tension-teeming chemistry between antiquities expert Danny McNamara, played by Matt Barr (Valor, Sleepy Hollow), and enigmatically elusive art thief Lexi, played by Sofia Pernas (The Brave, Jane the Virgin). Their collective efforts will see them attempting to thwart a terrorist who’s funding his destructive activities from the theft of treasures. – The series was written and executive-produced by Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia, a duo who worked on shows such as Limitless, Charlie’s Angels, Human Target, Warehouse 13 and Jericho.

Anna Silk will recur on the series, set to play Roarke reports Deadline. The character is an international tracker and member of a team of mercenaries. She may seem unassuming, but she’s a formidable fighter who’s ready for action and is said to be the toughest of her group of mercs and an unwavering force. She joins the Blood & Treasure cast alongside stars Barr and Pernas, along with names like Katia Winter, James Callis and Michael James Shaw.

Roarke is certainly a fitting role for Silk, a Canadian actress best known for her starring role on Syfy’s Lost Girl as Bo Dennis, a seductive Succubus who – despite having to feed off the life force of humans and a mystical race called the Fae – chooses to channel her supernatural abilities and innate drives toward helping people in need. The horror hybrid series ran for five seasons (2010 to 2016), and garnered a loyal fan community for its atmospheric, darkly libidinous presentation. Additionally, the series embraced the bisexuality of Silk’s Bo, arriving well before the industry’s current drive to showcase LGBT characters.

Interestingly, the announcement of Silk’s Blood & Treasure role arrives shortly after the low-key announcement that she will mark her acting comeback with a guest role on an episode of Syfy’s Wynonna Earp in the currently-running Season 3. However, Blood & Treasure will provide her first recurring role since Lost Girl ended its run. Her acting hiatus kicked off with the birth of her second son back in May 2016.

Blood & Treasure is set to premiere on CBS sometime in the summer of 2019.
