Amazon Studios confirms Zombieland TV Series, Announces writers and crew for pilot episode

According to published reports, Amazon Studios has officially confirmed that a pilot is in the works for a TV series based on the 2009 horror comedy Zombieland. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who wrote the original movie and Gavin Polone, the producer, are back on board. The pilot episode will be directed by Eli Craig.

The new spinoff will be available for free to LoveFilm subscribers along with six other comedy pilots and six children’s pilots. Viewers will be encouraged to review the 13 pilots to decide which of them will become a full-time show on Prime Instant Video Amazon Studios.

Roy Price, director of Amazon studios said: “Zombieland is a fan favorite and we can't wait to see where this story line goes in a serialized format. We've been announcing a lot of exciting exclusive content for Prime Instant Video, like Downton Abbey, Under the Dome and Justified, and we think adding original shows, such as Zombieland, to that lineup is going to make Prime even more enticing for customers."
