How It Ends Trailer: Theo James and Forest Whitaker Netflix Movie
Theo James and Forest Whitaker star in How It Ends, an epic apocalyptic movie that’s headed for Netflix.
How It Ends showcases a visually-impressive apocalyptic odyssey and yet another original content coup for Netflix. The film will put together Theo James, the co-star of the Divergent franchise, and The Last King of Scotland Best Lead Actor Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, who embark on a cross-country trip, braving a seismic catastrophe and the quickly-degenerating state of civility.
The film is directed by David M. Rosenthal (The Perfect Guy, A Single Shot). Here, Rosenthal works off a script by Brook McLaren, an up-and-coming screenwriter who was (and maybe still is,) attached to the television reboot project, Rambo: First Blood.
How It Ends Trailer
The How It Ends trailer sets up its ultra-awkward central relationship with an in-law scenario with apocalyptic implications. Starting things in Seattle, Will (James) is attempting to thaw his icy relationship with his father-in-law, Tom (Whitaker), who’s irate that daughter Samantha (Kat Graham) – now pregnant – was whisked 2,000 miles away to live on the East Coast.
However, their enmities will need to be put aside when the country starts to become ripped apart (in this case literally,) from a seismic disaster, with Samantha’s fate left unknown. Thus, the two embark on a continent-spanning road trip rescue, braving tumult-afflicted tectonic plates and opportunistic interlopers to reach the imperiled Samantha. – Because, as always in the apocalypse genre, the real threat is (much like the contents of Soylent Green,) people!
Indeed, it’s like Escape from New York had a road trip movie baby with Meet the Parents and got put through a Roland Emmerich lens.
Joining the primary duo of How It Ends, Theo James and Forest Whitaker, is Kat Graham (All Eyez on Me, The Vampire Diaries) along with names like Kerry Bishé, Mark O’Brien, Eric Keenleyside and Nancy Sorel.
How It Ends Release Date
How It Ends will follow through on its titular reveal when it arrives on Netflix on July 13.
