The Wolverine 3: Fox registers two possible titles
Weapon X looks to be part of the title of the new Wolverine movie...
Filming continues on The Wolverine 3, under the watchful eye of director James Mangold. He’s steering Hugh Jackman’s final outing as the clawed hero, which is due in cinemas next year.
However, up until now, the film has had the holding title of The Wolverine 3, which it clearly was never going to be called on final release. Instead, word has surfaced of two potential titles for the new film.
A report has surfaced that suggests 20th Century Fox has now registered the titles Wolverine: Weapon X and also Weapon X. It’s a fair bet that The Wolverine 3 will eventually go by one of those names. We’ll let you know when we know…
The Wolverine 3: first set pictures
Filming is underway on The Wolverine 3, as the movie won’t be called, which sees Hugh Jackman taking on the role of the title character for the final time.
The new movie is being directed by James Mangold (The Wolverine), and in the cast are Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E Grant, Eriq La Salle and Stephen Merchant.
The first images from the film – which is now shooting – have popped up online. And they give a very beardy flavour as to what to expect. Take a mooch…

The Wolverine 3 release date, R-rating
The third Wolverine movie is due in cinemas in March 2017. It's set to reach the UK on March 2nd, and the USA on March 3rd.
Fox's Simon Kinberg recently revealed to Collider that this will be "an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film”.
