More cast members announced for Westworld TV show
Boardwalk Empire, 300 and Hercules stars will be joining Anthony Hopkins in the TV take on Westworld...
Tis the season to reveal your pilot episode cast. Yesterday we learnt who’d be starring in the Scream TV adaptation, and today we’ve heard who’ll be visiting Westworld in the TV remake’s pilot.
There are some surprisingly sizeable names in there, too. Jeffrey Wright of Boardwalk Empire will play Bernard Low, described as “the brilliant and quixotic head of the park’s Programming Division,” while Rodrigo Santoro (both 300 movies and Dominion) will be Harlan Bell, “Westworld’s perennial Most Wanted bandit.”
Shannon Woodward of Raising Hope has been cast as “a sardonic rising star in the programming division,” while Ingrid Bolsø Berdal (Hercules) plays “a savage fighter and brutal bandit” and The Good Guys’ Angela Srafyan has signed up for the role of “one of Westworld’s most popular attractions” Clementine Pennyfeather. Rounding off the new announcements is Simon Quarterman of The Devil Inside. He’s taking the part of Lee Sizemore, narrative director of the park and originator of terrifying ideas.
This interesting mix of acting talent will be joining already-announced stars Anthony Hopkins and Evan Rachel Wood. JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot company is managing the production, with Jonathan Nolan heavily involved too. Although remakes don’t always warrant enthusiasm, this one certainly has our attention.
