American Revolutionary War drama, Turn, renewed for season 2

AMC has renewed historical drama, Turn, starring Jamie Bell and Burn Gorman...

Decent pre-twentieth century historical drama is hard to find on the small screen these days. Vikings does its job, admittedly, but New WorldsThe White QueenThe Borgias and others have - arguably - been more disappointment than must-watch in recent years. History geeks continue the search for TV dramas that will do for pre-twentieth century decades what Boardwalk Empire, Peaky Blinders and Mad Men have done for theirs.

Perhaps Turn, AMC's American Revolutionary War drama, will grow into just that. Set a century before the tremendous Deadwood, the series follows the Culper Ring, a group of spies who changed the course of the war for the yankees. Jamie Bell stars, as does Burn Gorman, our own Kevin McNally and more.

AMC has just renewed Turn for a second season, due to air in the US next year. There's no word of a UK airing as yet, but we'll keep you posted.

Quick question, what makes Kevin McNally 'our own' but not Jaime Bell or Burn Gorman..?

Cos he wrote and performed a fab story - Forever Death - at one of our Den of Eek horror story charity events. Sorry, my fault - I should have explained.

Does Deadwood get a mention because it historically plays after Turn or because there is a story connection?
Also, is this series a good watch? What I heard until now is that it is a bit boring.

Ahh, now it all makes sense.... Cheers Louisa!
