The Walking Dead season 5 casting news

The Wire, Homeland and Teen Wolf actor Seth Gilliam has joined The Walking Dead for season 5...

A familiar face from Teen WolfHomeland and of course, The Wire (in which he played Carver for five seasons), actor Seth Gilliam is the latest recruit to Robert Kirkman and Scott Gimple's The Walking Dead. Following the introduction of Chad "Cutty" Coleman and Larry "D'Angelo" Gilliard Jr to The Walking Dead's third and fourth seasons, Gilliam makes the third graduate of The Wire to join the apocalpyse drama.

Gilliam is to appear as a regular in season five of the zombie show, and while his character has not yet been announced, there's reason to believe he may be taking on the comic book role of preacher Gabriel Stokes in the new run.

Stokes, The Hollywood Reporter asserts, would fit in well with season five's central question of how possible it is to remain human and to live a life worth living after years of horror and violence. "Are we too far gone?" showrunner Scott Gimple asked after the season four finale, and the introduction of a preacher would certainly provide one perspective to that sort of question.

Gabriel.

Seriously? He gets a credit for homeland? He was cannon fodder!

And DOESN'T get one for his works Clayton Hughes in Oz? It's an outrage, I tell thee!

I'd have preferred to see this role cast a bit older but hey ho.

Carver! Man that does it. I will definitely start watching TWD this summer.
