The Vampire Diaries spin-off cast round-up
The Originals, the forthcoming spin-off from The Vampire Diaries, is locking down its cast...
All three remaining 'Originals' from The CW's The Vampire Diaries have now been confirmed as appearing in the show's forthcoming spin-off. That's sibling trio, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt), and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) signed up to move across to the The Originals, the New Orleans-set side project being developed to give the vamp franchise a new lease of life.
Joining the Mikaelson family is Sorority Row's Leah Pipes, who'll be helping the show fulfil its human quota. Pipes is down to play human lead Camille, a psychology student unaware of the supernatural world around her (but not for long, we assume). She'll be working alongside Phoebe Tonkin as werewolf Hayley, and newcomers Daniella Pineda and Danielle Campbell as witches Sophie and Davina. Charles Michael Davis is set to play Klaus' former protégé, Marcel.
In an example of synergy that would make Jack Donaghy proud, The Originals' pilot episode, written by showrunner Julie Plec, is to be inserted into The Vampire Diaries' fourth season on the 25th of April.
The casting news arrives just days after The Vampire Diaries was renewed for a fifth season.
