First look at The Transporter: The Series (warning: does not contain Jason Statham)

Cinemax’s upcoming action TV series based on Luc Besson’s Transporter franchise comes to our screens this October, take a look right here…

TV shows that take their inspiration from films are a chequered affair; for every The Sopranos or The West Wing (the first unofficially Goodfellas-inspired, the second from Aaron Sorkin’s blueprint for his own hit show, The American President), Buffy and M*A*S*H, there’s a Blade, a Police Academy, and an Uncle Buck.

Which category Cinemax and HBO’s The Transporter will fall into is yet to be seen. Based on the Luc Besson series starring our very own Jason Statham, The Transporter follows uncompromising ex-Special Forces operator Frank Martin, a man who makes his living as a fast-driving, very violent delivery boy for the criminal world.

Chris Vance (Prison Break; Dexter; Burn Notice) is the man tasked with filling Jason Statham’s size 10s in the series, and you can see for yourself how he’s getting along in this extended first look at the new series.

The Transporter is due to premiere this October with a pilot directed by Lost's Stephen Williams and written by Stargate’s Carl Binder.

He just doesn't sound badass enough!

Transporter the tv series. Exactly what it says on the tin. Looks good so far!

No no no no no no no no no no no nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo no no no no no no noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Jason Statham is the Transporter as Wesley Snipes is blade. I shall be boycotting this as I did Blade and it will be gone in half a season. Yay.

Blade : The Series, was awesome. You should really take the time to watch it, as it's possibly the most underrated show I can think of.

Don't get your hopes up - they've already been through two showrunning teams. I suspect that the twelve episodes they've produced will be all we get...

Any project that Statham is removed from can only improve.

I agree. It did the smart thing by taking the focus off Blade and putting it on Krista. It's sad Jill Wagner didn't become a star.

yeah looks good so far...

Its a terrible show. Just...so...bad.
