The Originals season 2 casting news
The Wire's Sonja Sohn, Det. Kima Greggs, has joined The Originals season 2 as a recurring character...
The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals, was one of last year's successful TV newbies. It wasn't without teething problems (if you'll excuse the pun) but by the time its finale came around, it knew exactly what it was and exactly what to do to keep audiences coming back.
Season two is its reward, and that season is welcoming new blood. In addition to the arrival of Teen Wolf's Daniel Sharman as charming, devilish witch Kaleb, to its roster of new talent comes The Wire's Sonja Sohn as a recurring character.
Sohn is still best recognised for her role at Det. Kima Greggs in David Simon's exemplary crime drama, The Wire, but has since appeared in Brothers & Sisters, Body Of Proof and Burn Notice, as well as a short stint on the increasingly strong The Good Wife. The actress is to play Lenore in The Originals, a powerful New Orleans witch whom Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will come up against from episode three of the new season.
